We expand to Screen and Music…

PopCult has always pushed the boundaries of media, from blending podcasting with playlisting to merging music with storytelling.

Today, we're thrilled to announce our expansion into film and music with the release of our first single, "What's in the Water" by Rae Isla.

This milestone release serves as the theme song for our upcoming episodic film project "SCENE: Silver Lake," which has been submitted to major festivals for 2025 and is already garnering distributor interest. "What's in the Water" was written specifically for the film by Ray Isla and produced by Silver Lake legend Tom Biller, whose credits include recordings with Fiona Apple,Jon Brion, Karen O, and Elliott Smith. Reggie Watts is onboard as narrator for the show.

The song and film were conceived as interconnected pieces of a larger story, exemplifying PopCult's commitment to seamless cross-media storytelling. Experience it yourself:

This expansion represents a major step forward in PopCult's mission to collaborate with premier creators and rights holders, develop innovative cross-media content, and tell compelling stories rooted in pop culture and music.
